At Sandstorm Fabrication, we have been visiting the sand
dunes and watched the evolution of sand cars over the
last thirty years. When I was a kid, there were strange
looking water pumpers with dual wheels on the back.
Then they changed to mainly VW and Corvair cars that
were a big improvement. The dependability of these cars
were, let's say, questionable.
Now it is a new era for sand cars. Long travel, tuned
suspension, power steering, comfortable seats, greatly
improved transmissions, tons of horsepower, and wild
graphics. But cars got really big, some over sixteen feet.
This is where we come in. We build a car that can fit into
a number of the smaller toy hauler trailers. We don't think
that you should have to sell a perfectly good trailer to own
a first class, long travel sand car. Let's face it, even a
budget sand car is a financial commitment to say the
least. And, if you own one of the longer trailers, with our
car, you may be able to haul some bikes in front of it.
